In May 2010, the Swedish Heart & Vascular Institute (SHVI) received two generous gifts totaling $2.5 million that will be used to advance research and patient care.
Thanks to a multi-year $1.5M grant from the John L. Locke Jr. Charitable Trust, SHVI is in the process of developing a Comprehensive Heart Failure Center at the Swedish/Cherry Hill campus.
The new center will help recruit a new medical director and administrative staff that will coordinate activities related to the diagnosis and treatment of heart failure throughout the SHVI cardiovascular care network, including inpatient, outpatient and emergency care, a heart failure research program and a full spectrum of heart failure-related patient education and support services.
