Swedish publicly launches the $100 million Campaign for Swedish

With fundraising beginning on January 1, 2007, the $100 million "Campaign for Swedish" has now surpassed $68 million in generous contributions from the community. As with most large fundraising campaigns, a significant percentage of these early gifts have come from "friends" of Swedish — grateful patients, board members, staff, physicians and donors with a long history of supporting Swedish.

The campaign "went public" with a dinner under an elegant tent at Swedish/Cherry Hill campus Thursday, Sept. 16. The purpose of this campaign event was to officially announce the $100M campaign, highlight the progress to date, thank donors who have already made gifts and to inspire new gifts in support of Swedish. In attendance were nearly 300 guests, including many top community philanthropists.

Swedish/Cherry Hill Chief Administrative Officer, Marcel Loh, believes this campaign launch event was a significant milestone for Swedish and the campaign.

"Swedish is immensely grateful for the generous support we receive from the community," said Loh. This event provided an opportunity for us to say 'thank you' to those who have invested in the health care of our region and, equally important, it was an opportunity to inspire additional support to ensure Swedish continues to provide world-class care to our patients long into the future."
